Nearly two decades ago, in October 2007, For Your Glory Soap began with a simple passion: creating beautiful, skin-loving bars made with thoughtful ingredients and a lot of care.
What started as a love for handcrafted soap has grown into years of learning, creating, refining recipes, and sharing small-batch skincare with people who appreciate quality.
Today, as we approach 20 years of soapmaking, our commitment remains the same: to create handcrafted soap with carefully selected ingredients, thoughtful formulations, and the care that comes from years of experience.
In a world where the word “natural” is used everywhere, we believe it is important to slow down, understand ingredients, and know the story behind what you put on your skin.
At For Your Glory Soap, we believe your daily skincare routine should be more than just a necessity. It can be a simple moment of care, comfort, and enjoyment.
Understanding Handmade Soap: The Transformation of Oils and Lye
One of the most common questions about handmade soap is, “Does soap contain lye?”
The answer begins with understanding how true soap is made.
Traditional soap is created through a carefully controlled process called saponification. Sodium hydroxide, commonly known as lye, combines with oils and transforms into something completely new: soap.
A little-known fact about lye is that it is also used in making traditional German-style soft pretzels. A diluted lye solution helps create the beautiful brown crust and distinctive flavor that makes a traditional pretzel so delicious.
In soapmaking, lye has a completely different job. It reacts with the oils during saponification, and once that process is complete and the soap has properly cured, there is no active lye remaining in the finished bar.
This transformation is one of the things we love about traditional soapmaking: carefully chosen oils and lye come together through chemistry to create something entirely new.
After nearly 20 years of making soap, we continue to respect the science, craftsmanship, and patience that go into every bar of For Your Glory Soap.
Ingredients Matter: What Goes Into Every For Your Glory Soap Bar
We believe beautiful skincare begins with thoughtful ingredients. Every ingredient in our soap has a purpose.

Our signature formula begins with organic extra virgin olive oil as the main ingredient, along with organic sustainable palm oil, organic coconut oil, organic castor oil, and organic sunflower oil.
Each oil brings something special to the finished bar—from firmness and longevity to rich lather, fluffy bubbles, and a silky, conditioning feel.
And there is one special ingredient found in every For Your Glory Soap bar: Tussah silk protein. We use it to give our bars an extra silky, smooth feel.
After nearly 20 years of soapmaking, we continue to believe that what goes into a product matters. We carefully choose our ingredients because we want every For Your Glory Soap bar to be something special.
Fragrance Choices Made With Care
Every For Your Glory Soap bar has its own unique personality and scent.
Some bars are scented with quality essential oils, including cold-pressed essential oils where appropriate, while others feature premium fragrance oils selected to be phthalate-free and free from unnecessary additives.
We carefully choose each scent because fragrance is an important part of the handmade soap experience.
